This is painting #2 in a series of 30 Paintings in 30 Days. It depicts Mary Magdeline at the empty tomb. She carries anointing oil in her hands and is ready to anoint Jesus but the tomb is now empty. He has risen.
About Deborah Nell
I have been painting on and off since the age of eight. I'm a native of Southern California and moved to Pennsylvania in 1998. I obtained my B.A. in Design from UCLA in 1981. I'm an intuitive painter and I work primarily on Yupo paper (a slick, synthetic paper which lends itself to much experimentaion) with acrylic inks, watercolor and acrylic paint. I see my painting process as an act of worshipping God. I don't know what I'm going to paint when I start, but I trust God to guide me.
