Artist's Description
I recently went on a short term missions trip to Nicaragua. It was my first missions trip and it will not be my last. I fell in love with the people there and their giving and grateful hearts. I took lots of pictures of the many people, especially the children. This boy was at one of the outreaches we held in a poorer section of the city. I don't normally paint people with faces but after my trip, I keep remembering the faces of those I met in Nicaragua.
About Deborah Nell
I have been painting on and off since the age of eight. I'm a native of Southern California and moved to Pennsylvania in 1998. I obtained my B.A. in Design from UCLA in 1981. I'm an intuitive painter and I work primarily on Yupo paper (a slick, synthetic paper which lends itself to much experimentaion) with acrylic inks, watercolor and acrylic paint. I see my painting process as an act of worshipping God. I don't know what I'm going to paint when I start, but I trust God to guide me.
