Deborah, your paintings on yupo paper are an inspiration for me. I love your mark making, and the way that you draw into the paint.

I like this one very much. The black lines add something new to it. More of a certainty about the subject with this painting.

Well, Deborah, I get to be the first to comment on this, and I think it is terrific. The motion, the colors, The kind-of here-then-not-here quality is great. I love this one.

I had fun painting this guitarist. I felt a lot of freedom as I listened to some worship music as I painted. I was delighted to see a male guitarist emerging as I experimented with the paint.

About Deborah Nell

Deborah Nell

I have been painting on and off since the age of eight. I'm a native of Southern California and moved to Pennsylvania in 1998. I obtained my B.A. in Design from UCLA in 1981. I'm an intuitive painter and I work primarily on Yupo paper (a slick, synthetic paper which lends itself to much experimentaion) with acrylic inks, watercolor and acrylic paint. I see my painting process as an act of worshipping God. I don't know what I'm going to paint when I start, but I trust God to guide me. I listen to Christian music while painting and work intuitively until I see something emerging. I then further define it. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.
