Artist's Description

This painting is painted on a stretched canvas and is textured with modeling paste, string gel and cheese cloth. When I painted it, I did not know what I was painting. I started by appyling modeling paste, string gel and cheese cloth to create texture on the canvas. After it dried, I began applying the paint to "discover" the image on the canvas. I began to see the king and his bride emerge. I then further defined it. This painting is symbolic of Jesus and his Bride, the church.

About Deborah Nell

Deborah Nell

I have been painting on and off since the age of eight. I'm a native of Southern California and moved to Pennsylvania in 1998. I obtained my B.A. in Design from UCLA in 1981. I'm an intuitive painter and I work primarily on Yupo paper (a slick, synthetic paper which lends itself to much experimentaion) with acrylic inks, watercolor and acrylic paint. I see my painting process as an act of worshipping God. I don't know what I'm going to paint when I start, but I trust God to guide me. I listen to Christian music while painting and work intuitively until I see something emerging. I then further define it. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.
