Deborah, your work is so fresh and inspiring! The colors, the movement, the abstract, yet figurative style all combine to make works filled with wonder and emotion.

Deborah, I love that you listen to Christian music when you paint. I, myself, listen to old time gospel while I paint and I believe it inspires me.

I agree with Patricia, that yupo paper is difficult - maybe it is hard to be so free. but you seem to enjoy doing lots of different things with it to get a soft and rich effect. Thanks for sharing your journey

About Deborah Nell

Deborah Nell

I have been painting on and off since the age of eight. I'm a native of Southern California and moved to Pennsylvania in 1998. I obtained my B.A. in Design from UCLA in 1981. I'm an intuitive painter and I work primarily on Yupo paper (a slick, synthetic paper which lends itself to much experimentaion) with acrylic inks, watercolor and acrylic paint. I see my painting process as an act of worshipping God. I don't know what I'm going to paint when I start, but I trust God to guide me. I listen to Christian music while painting and work intuitively until I see something emerging. I then further define it. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.
